Eshetu is a British national of Ethiopian origin. He has BSc in Plant Sciences, an MSc Degree in Crop Protection both from Alemaya University of Agriculture, Ethiopia, and a Ph.D. in Phytobacteriology from the University of East Anglia, , Norwich, UK. He is an Agricultural Scientist specialising in Horticulture, Crop Protection, Agronomy and Phytobacteriology. He has previously worked as a Research Agronomist and Farm Manager, Rural Manpower Research Expert with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ethiopia, Agronomist-Research Co-ordinator for the Crop and Pasture Research Department, Wollaita Agricultural Development Unit (WADU) World Bank Project (Ethiopia), Senior Research Officer Scientific Phytopathological Laboratory (Ethiopia), Horticulturist-Training Centre for people with learning difficulties (UK), Publicity Officer (Norwich World Wide, UK). He is also the Projects Coordinator for the Norfolk-African Community Association, Norwich, UK.
